Centus
Centus was made for Cantina Giubertoni's centenary. A hundred years of winemaking in a bottle.
A Garda DOC from Corvina, from the best grapes at Affi on the Bardali estate — farmed organically, in a microclimate worked by the currents off Lake Garda. Hand-harvested, selected into small crates. A long maceration in concrete tanks, the very ones Agostino and Tazio Giubertoni built in the 1950s. Then twelve months in French oak barriques.
The label is a mosaic of a hundred paintings from the "Giubertoni D'autore" collection, unveiled in May 2024 for the centenary: a hundred canvases evoking the grape, the wine, the land, the traditions and the family. Four thousand numbered bottles.
In the glass — Deep ruby, almost violet. Amarena cherry and fruit steeped in spirit on the nose, with a marked woody, menthol note. Ripe red fruit on the palate with delicate wood. Strong, well-balanced structure.
At the table — Meat dishes, cheese boards, tasty cured meats.
Serving — 14°C. 13% vol. 75 cl.
