Bel Monte - Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso DOC

Same legend, same volcano, red this time: Christ's tears over Vesuvius, after Lucifer stole a fragment of paradise to carve out the Bay of Naples. Piedirosso 80%, Sciascinoso and Aglianico making up the remaining 20%, at 90 quintals per hectare.

In the glass — Bright ruby red. Berry fruit on the nose, with a pleasant spicy edge and a hint of violet. Well structured and balanced on the palate, supple, persistent, with an agreeable aftertaste.

At the table — Pasta or polenta with meat sauces, roast red meats, fine poultry, game, pungent cheeses — and Neapolitan lasagne is fair game too.

Serving — 18°C. 13% vol. 75 cl.
