Terra Rossa - Magliocco IGP

Magliocco is a native Calabrian variety you will almost never meet in Belgium. Pacelli bottles it on its own here rather than burying it in a blend — a chance to take the grape at face value.

Harvested mid-September, fermented in steel vats, then aged a full year in steel. Again, no oak: the bet is on transparency.

In the glass — Intense red with garnet highlights, bright. Coffee and red fruit on the nose, pepper, a floral note of geranium. The palate is full and savoury, warm without heaviness, carried by a very fine, settled tannic structure.

At the table — Pasta dishes, grilled meats, aged and spicy cheeses.

Serving — 18°C. 13% vol. 75 cl.
