Brunello di Montalcino

(0 review)
Brunello di Montalcino is the supreme oenological expression of a land that for centuries has been proud of great winemaking traditions. Already appreciated in past centuries, oenological production had remained faithful to the now established canons of the Tuscan tradition and it was only at the end of the last century that the first experiments began aimed at enhancing and exalting the characteristics of a raw material and an environment that was undoubtedly special. At the oenological level, Brunello was born in the middle of the nineteenth century thanks to some winegrowers in the area, who, through the clonal selection of the Sangiovese grape variety, obtained a product of high quality, a wine suitable for a long ageing. However, it is only in recent decades, in parallel with the concession of the DOCG (it was the first Italian wine to obtain it in 1980), that Brunello's production has recorded a definitive and generalized qualitative evolution, followed by a constant affirmation of notoriety and image throughout the world.
